The Welsh Grand National in December is the course’s most prestigious event. Flat racing occurs between April and September, whilst jumps racing occurs between October and April.

In August 1926 the racecourse opened after ten South Wales gentry and businessmen formed a company in order to purchase the land. The Welsh Grand National in December is the course’s most prestigious event. Flat racing occurs between April and September, whilst jumps racing occurs between October and April.
